Sound System Upgrade Help.
First off I did post this in the Audio/Visual Electronics sec. no replys
Ok here's the set-up I'm looking to get if I don't go with my Lift-Tire-Wheel-Shock project first:
Front: 6"x9" http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...r_05KS693.aspx
Rear: 5-1/4" http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...r_05KS525.aspx
Sadly after checking I have the 5-1/4" in the rear rather than the 6-1/2" some other sites say my vehicle has. This site actually gave me the correct stock speaker set-up I had.
And for the Amp here's the two I was looking at;
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu..._GT5-A604.aspx
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu..._KAC-6404.aspx
And possibly a Yellow Top Optima Battery with top/side terminals shortly after the speaker upgrade project.
Or if you find one that's better suited please by all means recommend or point me to it. As far as wiring . . . got any suggestions on the gauges you'd recommend ? Fairly new but I have a cousin and friend that would LOVE to help with the install LoL.
Thanks.

direct bolt in and plug in. Sound great. I have the 6x9's and will soon be getting the rear door and hopefully the amp as well.
Got them on eBay. Check Amazon too.

My rear doors also had the 5.25s but what I did was take my 6.5 and tay them face down on a sheet of MDF and trace around it. Then cut that out and cut the inside out to leave a 1/2" ring. I painted that black and screwed it to me door and siliconed around it. Then I screwed my 6.5s to it. No one I could find made a 5.25 to 6.5 adapter so thats how I made mine.
wow after looking around I may even think about Component speakers
but alas I'm not too familiar with running wires, let alone sound systems so now's a great time to learn
My pops has way more tools than he or I ever thought and I have a rather creative mind so I'm sure I can figure this all out eventually.
Ouch scratch the component idea . . . too pricey for me at this point in time, maybe in my distant future Avenger

If I go with Kicker's 6x9's (or any other brand) how am I going to get around their top-mount depths that exceed 2-3/4" depth the onlinecarstereo fit guide says I have.
weedahoe: thanks, I just may do that if I end up wanting 6.5's instead of the 5.25's.
lxman: great pdf installation guides they have. although I've already done most of what's there to just check what size speakers and the room I had behind the panels.

i bought some rockford fosgate primes 6x9s for the front and to make them fit i took the bracket off the stock 6x9s it had to be sanded down a little but it fit and i screwed them back in and its a tight fit with no rattle
