im having the same problem right now too. drove me so crazy last week that i parked on the side of the road and banged on my taillights with my palm cause im retarded and im assuming its my tail lights cause...well cause i think so. anyway the dinging actually stopped for 6 days. on my way to work today it happened again. i just need to take time and figure out whats going on with it
I have had the same problem in my tail light it was one of the sockets the ground was in bad shape so recut and strip put it all back toghether now works perfect.
My truck tells me which light is out, does your guys trucks not tell you that on the overhead console?
Is that on your '02? That would be nice if it did, it would have saved me about 3 days of work. Do you have to do anything to get it to tell you which light?
The circuit boards are notorious for going bad. As someone posted earlier, they cost about $20 at the dealership. It is such a common repair that I went to the dealer and told the guy that I needed a circuit board for my tail lights and he did not even look up the part number. He went to the parts room and brought it back in 30 seconds. Easy repair also. Took about 10 minutes. It has worked great for over 1 year now. I lived in Florida and the salt air made them rust very quickly.
yea, putting in the wrong LED replacement bulb in the back has been known to fry the boards. From what I understand, they did a fairly good job fixing the problem with the 06+
