the 3865 will have full shift control of gears 1-5 up and downshift and different throttle positions after the new software is released. frog, teach and I are all beta testers for this new software, its the shiznit.

edit: truckin151 has a torque convertor. he may have sold one of his toes to get it, and seems like it was worth it. look up threads he's created.
THANKS MAN!!! Im ganna look into that right now!

Superchips tuners can adjust shift points. Mine shifts at 6200 rpm out of first and i gas it all the way through the 2/3 shift as well. I have a trans-go shift kit and an Edge torque converter. I use a window switch to control the nos, it has adjustable rpm settings and a wot switch built in. I have to go to work now, i will be back in a couple of days, if you need more specific help, PM me and i will get to it as soon as i come home.

I have a Comp 268 cam, SCT tune and am squirting 175 hp shot on a forged bottom end.

NICE!!! Your truck sounds like a badass!!!! Have you ran it at the track yet?? I was going to go with the 268 cams because you dont need to do all the extra stuff like with the 273s but i figured I would be patient and go big or go home ... Im excited to see the differnce and hear what it will sound like!!!

Witch superchip do you have the 3815 or the 3865? and then you have it staced with the sct for you nitrous setup?

The TQ Converter helps out a lot but from what I have been told if you are running nitrous you really need to have a TQ Converter that is made for nitrous apps. One of the guys that lives by me has an 04' quad cab that has been built up really nice running a 12.90 in the 1/4 mile and he is using the diablo for a tuner and spraying it.

I know it's a little off track from the point of the thread... but have you looked into the rpm range/ hp and tq range of the 273? It makes power real late in the rpm range, most of which is beyond a stock bottom end hemi. Do a little search and read up on it a bit. There's lots of opinions out there, I just want you to have all the info before you form your own opinion on it.

Really? I did some research but mostly just on the 273s ... I didnt look much into the 268s ... To be truthfull I just figured bigger is better and all it talks about is a hp gain of 61 to the crank ... I didnt really look at the power bands and see if it was mid range or high ... But mid range is what would help me most now that i think about it.

Thanks for making me relise that ... Whats your opion on what i should do cam wise? I know the 268s would save me alot of money in the end...

Here's a great thread that has dyno graphs for the 260, 268, and 273. You'll see that the 273 is atually inferior to the 268 until about 5600 rpms. The real gains don't come until after 6000 rpm. It all comes down when you want to shift and what your motor will handle.

He's right. You can't just look at the peak hp and tq numbers to decide which cam is best. You need to look at the entire power bands to see where they are making the power and if that is in the range where you will be able to use it. The 273 does make a lot of hp, but it is at an rpm that is higher than most of these trucks ever get to.
