What about the engineer that made replacing a taillight bulb into removing the entire assembly? Had to change them out on a road trip in the middle of nowhere in AZ.
I have had two trucks, one that went to 215k miles and is still running strong for the next owner, and the only two problems I ever had with that truck was my power steering, and the other problem was my rear axle, I blew that out at 208k miles. And the truck I have now has 98k miles, 10k of which have been put on by me with not one single problem, not even a hint at one.
I just did my Sidewinder cam install over the weekend and I cant tell you how many times I was all back there and had the VCs, coils and plugs out. Its not hard for me...........LOL
Am I the only person that doesn't have trouble with this? My technique is to drop the socket down there, drop a short extension in behind it, and put in another extension over the top of that. I really didn't find it very difficult. no moving brake booster or lines or anything.
+1 on this! i changed my plugs out for the first time in my truck, the day after i got stung in both the thumb and index finger on my right hand by a sculpin. (poisonous fish) so needless to say, my whole right hand was stiff, swollen, and sore. using the above method, still took me less than 45 min to change all 16 plugs.
Seriously though, I use a standard spark plug socket with a swivel, then a 3" extention and then the rachet and can get to them all day long with no problems.
