Default MDS delete? Exhaust question

I have an '06 1500 with a 5.7 Hemi with a Magnaflow muffler (installed before I bought the truck) with 35,000 miles.

What I have herd is that when the mds kicks in and cuts to 4 cylinders, the tone of the exhaust will "drive you out of the cab".

Anyone have any experience with this? Should I buy a programmer to delete the mds, or is it not really that bad? I'm also considering a programmer to change the shift points... I love my truck, but that 1st-2nd shift when towing is terrible.

I have a Flowmaster and the tone in recognizable but I can deal with it. I will probably buy a programer in the near future.

I have a full magnaflow kit and it drove me nuts, but I do alot of highway driving for work and thats when you here it the most. I took the muffler off and straightpiped it for a bit to see if I should buy a cutout and it was the worst sound ever when the MDS came on.. I now use the superchips primarily for the mds disable, I dont think the mds really does anything anyways? I havent noticed a difference in fuel economy

I have a Magnaflow cat back and a Flashpaq. I disabled MDS a month or 2 ago and IMO it's louder with it off, MPG went down as well. I'll probably be turning it back on.

you can hear the 4 cyl switch with my aero turbine but it's not bad. i read where even 20% duty cycle of the mds will still save you money.

Well if it isn't bothering you now with the Magnaflow, don't worry about it. Do you still have the factory resonators on the truck? 06 had one before the muffler and one in the tailpipe. I have the Magnaflow 16700 cat-back on my 08. Mine isn't that noticeable on the highway because the speed limit is 70 where I go and it would rarely kick in. In town it sounded crappy to me so I turned it off with my Diablosport Predator.

Both resonators are still on the truck, that's what led me to ask a local shop about removing them and where I was told that the tone is bad without them. I was thinking about a catback kit, but wanted some owners opinions.
Thanks
