So I have stock tires on my ram and tonight it snowed somewhat. It was coming down hard but at the time only 1 inch of wet shussy snow and I couldn't go anywhere. I was going to get gas. What the hell. Took my 20 mins to get out of my driveway. I even put it into \4wd and still had a really hard time. Just kept spinning and what not. These factory tires that dodge put on are ****ing krap. sorry but come on even when the roads are just damp i spin not even meaning to. Who ever invented them are bad. So I was wondering it the nitto trail grapplers or any of the nitto offroad tires are good in the snow.? How do they preforum, I would think any tires then factory would be good. I mean spinning in 4wd in 1 inch of snow! tires need to go now. Any other tires that are some what offroad like that are good in snow and all around good. Thanks guys.

As a general rule of thumb, an A/T tire will be better than an aggressive M/T tire on ice and on hard packed snow. A M/T will outperform an A/T in the deep stuff.

So you need to analyze what conditions you expect to be in most often.

 

My factory Badyears actually did pretty good in the big winter storm last year and I have a 2wd. Maybe the optional white letter H/P's are better

 

I have bald, and I mean bald old mud terrains on my truck and I dont have nearly that much trouble in snow, actually, the snow I have hit this year I havent even touched 4wd... And when I had my wrangler hp's on I still did just fine in the snow. That sounds weird that you had that much trouble...

i have taken my cooper zeons in snow twice, and they were great, never used 4x4, it was light snow and ice, and i had no problems, when we get a snow storm at the mountains later this week, i will let you know how they do in the heavy snow, i paid around $750 for everything
