Just talked to dealer, They want records of service and it may be covered under warranty.

Records of service can be Parts reciepts with the mileage on them. You don't have to get service done at a garage, so if they tell you that, then they are blowing smoke.

I wouldn't tell them you were trying to pull someone, you could say you were stuck in the mud alone.
Eitherway, warranty should cover it because the truck is made to pull another truck your size with no issue's.

From the pic, it looks like the housing is ok. I guess we'll know for sure when you get it apart. If the housing is ok, I'd say your looking at a set of gears and bearings. I'd never heard of a front 8" breaking. Are you the original owner of the truck? I only ask because you never know about these used vehicles. Good luck with the dealer coverage.

I'd say the housing is not OK. I'd say it's split in half actually

It should be cover under warranty just don't tell that you were off roading tell you were driving on the highway when all of a sudden you heard a snap

Lmao, I saw that post earlier but was waiting for someone else to comment on it!!!! I knew the guys on here would go crazy over the comment the housing looks ok. hahaha The housing is screwed!!!! I wanted to see what people would come up with to say to that.
