So, its cold and we are getting freezing rain...and i was wondering how hard it is to get the inner door panels apart to replace the stock speakers?

Id love the truck to sound a little better, but I dont want to sacrifice my underseat storage. i figure that my only option is to replace the standard door speakers...?

stereo stuff is not my thing...i have systems in the other vehicles, but thats generally just subs and amps in the trunk.

*edit-sorry, this is on my 06 QC.

Surprisingly Pat, the stock speakers are not that bad. Now granted, at 42 my hearing ain't what it was and I'm well past that age when I did sub boxes, multiple amps, tweeters in the pillars, etc. But all I did was yank the stock system out of my truck and replaced it with a Sony deck that did 55w x 4.
The speakers handle the extra wattage with no problem and sound a LOT better than with the stock deck. Was always gonna just do speakers when these blew up or got tinny but they still sound fine 5 years later. Maybe all you need to do is boost the wattage a little...

the door panel are easy to get off. you need a torque 30 wrench i believe to get the inside handle off and then its just two screws on the bottom, the one behind the inside handle and then the one my the mirrors

hammer, im not happy with the sound from the stock speakers...although, i usually make use of the stock head unit and i will do that in this case. the stratus booms with an amp and 2 12s on the stock HU.

silver, thanks...maybe ill tear them off and have a look at them...i bet that one of them is ripped.

I though my stockers were fine untill one of them had the wires get pulled out of the back so I bought some new boston accoustics speakers and put them in behind my new deck and wow there was no comparison.

i think that depends on if your truck came with the infinity system or not.
