sooooo true, add 35s to that equation and im lucky they let me on the freeway lol. On ramps are a trick for me, if i have someone in front of me they think im riding their *** but im building up speed. most people just wait till the end of it and excelerate. I dont have that choice!

im assuming your brother in law has the v6 firebird. if he has the 8 then it's sick. if he has the ws6 then he's just being nice and letting you win lol.

+1 on the WS6, always been my dream car. Especially after building a 68 goat.... ooooohhhh....
Anyways, it all comes down to your gearing. Our little 4.7's dont have much power as it is. I dont know if you realize this or not, but 3.55 gears in my opinion should have never even been considered for our trucks. Tall gears is not the answer for a small motor. If you are going to regear man, you need to go big and go with 4.56 gears. Its the only way to get these dangs trucks moving.
I dont know about your 4.7, but mine doesnt like doing anything above 83.56 MPH. LOL. Unless I have a good run and at least a level ground, it just aint gonna happen. Then again, I dont have tunes either. Oh well.
If your going to do it again, get to 60 MPH, kick the tow/haul on, lay in it to win it. good luck.
PS... street racing is snot only illegal, but unsafe and could kill somebody including yourself. It is not supported by this forum in any way.

Damn guys and your hemi's! I will try that suggestion of taking it out of OD. The truck now has been acting weird ever since that day. When I brake to slow down the RPM jumps then comes down. When I drive for a couple miles and go to Nuetral or Park the Idle shoots to 1100. If I stomp the gass and let it settle, it will go to the normal 500 but go right to 1100. I had the IACV replaced because it was being sluggish when hooked up to the computer but it still does it after the new part and calibration. Any suggestions!

And teacher, when are you doing that cam swap I want to learn so I can do it in my 4.7L. Let me know when, so I can tag along to watch and help if I can, ill bring the beer! Must drink afterwards so nothing gets flamboosld...Yes Yes, I saw that post on another forum, I am not stalking you or reading your mind!
Another note, I heard 4.56's would be too much for my 29'' tire and rim combo! Lots have suggested 4.10's max because of wheel size. I dunno any ideas on that would be nice too.
