Vehicle prices in MD do seem to be steeper than here in VA. I picked my 05 Hemi QC up about 7 months ago for 13g's with 60k on the odo. I searched high and low for it though, as the average seemed to be around 15-18k at the time for that similar vehicle on other lots. Just broaden your search and stay on it, you will find something.

I also live in MD, North Eastern and could not deal at all with the high prices around here. I went home to PA, for Christmas last year and bought an 08 for 23000 out the door with me being upside down on my 05 dakota which they paid for so I got a great deal. had 12000 miles on it was owned by a chrysler exec so i got the 8 year 80000 powertrain warranty. I had to leave the dealer and turned down 3 separate calls from the owner himself before I got the message if I give you your price will you get the damn thing off my lot?? I was there in 20 minutes. Love the truck try PA they are alot better priced than this state.

Wintertime in a region know for snow is going to be priced on the high end. Not so much down south where a 4x4 is not a necessity.

i picked my 04 4.7 slt, qc up for 13 after taxes and tags, 2 years ago in february. it had like 50k on it, maybe closer to 60. but i just dont understand how i paid that 2 years ago, and now im looking and the price for similar trucks, similar years is still the same if not more. not to mention the newer models 06-08 are even more. im going to keep looking, more than likely wait till spring, but if any of u get bored, or since i know most of u are like me and check trucks a few times a week, if not daily

-06 or newer, black 4x4 hemi auto with the sliding rear window, under 60k miles, for a steal of a price, and by steal i mean in the teens. thanks ahead of time

good find, i appreciate it, but it being in virginia and me being in MD, even if i got it at 18 out the door, id be paying another 1080 to register it in MD. now if i got it for 16, it would be worth the MD sales tax

I don't understand why you think MD charges a different sales tax based on where you buy it.

I'm guessing he is implying that MD is an ad valorem state, meaning there would be a penalty, duty, tax, or whatever you want to call it for bringing in a vehicle from out of state and registering it there. Georgia was an ad velorum state when I first moved there in the early '90s, I had to pay tax on the full value of my truck and car my wife owned at registration time even though I had already bought and paid for them previously. Was around $1300 for the two if I remember right, they have since done away with it...

Don't feel bad man.

Prior to purchasing my *new* to me 2004 Ram.

I ran into a guy @ Home Depot and comment about his exhaust and he said he got his truck in March /09 and he purchased it for only $12k

(2004 Ram CC / 4.7L , 2wd with 37K miles) I asked which Stealership he got it at and that's where I went to (this past weekend). This is where I got my *also* 2004 Ram / 4dr / 4.7L with 44K miles and tried to get it at 12K also.
No go.

I then comfronted the sales manager and gave that guy (I talked to @ Home Depot) business card and they had the lame excusse stating it was "DUE TO FUEL PRICES". OMG!!!

Anyways... I am still happy @ 14k out the door purchase and of course new RAM owner

Good luck on your future purchase.

dodges are dime a dozen here, not often you find a used one over 12-15k unless its a diesel.
