Default Arm and a Leg

The truck is going in for sure Thursday to get 4.56s installed. its gonna cost me a fortune. gears and install kit alone is gonna cost $550. then another $50 for fluid. $400 for labor (i feel thats a fair price, this guy has been doing rear ends for over 20 years and really knows his stuff). then after tax its gonna cost around $1100 just for the one axle!

sorry guys, just had to rant there for a minute. you 1500 owners could probably get gears and an LSD for that price, if not better. oh well, i guess you gotta pay the bigger bucks to own a 3/4 or 1 ton truck.

the only company that makes stuff for this rear end is American Axle. so i guess when you have no competitors you can charge whatever you want.

this should tell all you young guys out there something..... if you know how to properly manage your finances, the military actually pays you very well. that and big fat bonus checks after 4 years really help with the mods.

I paid 450 for my Auburn LSD, Motive 456s and Motive master kit and paid 250 to have it all put in. I got lucky.

Those are good mods and well worth having.

2500s rock BTW. I wouldnt mind having on and 4wd
