They wanted $109 for a whole hour of labor just to turn the TPMS light on my wife's Liberty off (about 10 min worth of work, tops).

the way shops charge is based on their labor rate and book time. if a job calls for 1 hour in the books but the tech takes 15 mins youre getting charged for the hour....****ed up? maybe but thats the way it works. if you dont like it get a manual, buy the tools and diy and see if its cheaper and faster.

That's about 1/2 labor to hook up their $3000 star tool to reprogram your PCM for fog lights. That's a 1/2hr that a mechanic could be working on a higher paying job. Not a bad deal if you ask me. They could charge a min 1hr rate!!

Nah, Not ****ed up. Because at the same time if the book says 1 hour and it takes them 2, You only get charged 1 hour. You think book time labor rates are bad, You should see what tech's at dealership's get paid for warranty repairs.

Kinda like when it takes me an hr to cut a tree down and clean it up, but I get paid $300? Like I told you before, I get it.........

Now Im getting it done for $15 tomorrow, using the same machine the other guy had. I guess someone's time is worth more than others, or maybe I found out I know the right people....
