Question Quick help with a hose...please.

I have a hose that is crimped and I want to replace it. I haven't gotten any CELs or anything, but I'm sure it's not good for it to be crimped like that. But I'm not sure how best to remove it. I have some pics. If you could offer any suggestions I would appreciate it. This is on a 4.7L.

Here is the hose that is crimped:

Another angle:

Here is the hose connected to the air filter box (for reference):

And here is the trouble end:

How in the world do you get it to come off of there? I'm about to head out with a blow dryer now to see if I can heat it up some to make it more plyable. I don't have a heat gun.

Went to Advance Auto and Napa and neither of them have that hose. They said that it is a dealer part. The guy at Napa suggested that I cut out the crimp and take a piece of heater hose and some hose clamps and splice it all together as a temporary solution. What do y'all think about that? Sound like a viable option?

And what would you call that hose so I could call the stealership and see what it costs? Or is there someplace online that I could order one cheaper? Not sure where to look since I don't even know what to call it.

it either crimped because it had pressure on it with a little heat or most likely due to pressure inside the tube....negative pressure sucking it in along with the heat.

You could take standard rubber hose, and replace the crimped area with rubber hose. Won't do any harm.

As far as the part name...I'd say it would have to be something like air-bypass hose??? wild guess there.

Im with dog, I would have just used some heater hose with the clamps and been done with it but the hair dryer was a good idea.

Looks like the air intake hose for the PCV system. The same hose on out Hemi that runs from the valve cover to the air filter box.

Yeah I ended up using a piece of heater hose and a couple of clamps and it seems to be fine. The best part is it cost me all of 73 cents to fix it. The guy at Napa gave me a piece of scrap heater hose he had. I already had 1 hose clamp so I just had to buy one.

So if I were to put a CAI on there in the future, would that hose still need to hook into the CAI some place? I've seen where you plug the IAC sensor into the CAI but I don't think I've seen anything about that hose having to be connected to it. Just wondering since a CAI is possibly one of the next things I do to the truck.

Yep. You need to filter that air that is being drawn into the crankcase somehow.
The Airaid MIT pipe has a spot for the hose on it. It's on the right side of mine in this pic. I still have the factory air box, so I capped it off.
