Getrag 238 Six Speed
Joe you wont be able to mate the two but you can mate the 4.7 with the getrag and it only has about 50 hp less then the hemi. the motor will be able to handle anything you throw at it. My truck has a lift, tires and has been off-road multiple times and hasn't had problems
I'm glad to see other guys outraged that the big 3 (and the Japanese) don't offer a manual tranny in their half tons any more. I've never owned an automatic and when I went to replace my '98 F150 4.6 4x4 5speed, I was drawn to Dodge solely because they offered the manual through '08. I dread the day that I need to replace my '08 Ram with the 4.7L 6speed.
Keep shifting those gears guys!

I get a lot of calls from my dealer wanting me to step into a new truck. Back in 06 I was not happy I had to get a 2500 to get the hemi and 6speed combo, now in 2011 no hemi 6 speed option in a 2500.
with the CTD dodge is proud to offer a class leading 6speed manual transmisson, no way in hell I'm paying the up charge for a ctd just to get a 6speed man transmisson.

Anybody here interested in doing a swap? I still am, but am not quite sure I'll put in the nv4500 'cuz it's got the granny first. Might get an NV3500 for under $300, and it includes the bellhousing...or a Keisler RS400 ($2000 w/bellhousing).
I was going to ask you G238 guys how the speedo gets its signal, but I suspect it's different than an NV3500 or 4500 (or Keisler RS400 for that matter).
