I hope it doesn't come to that, I had to deal w/ them in a dispute w/ Sears/tireamerica and I got nothing but wasted time and excuses from both sides. Anyway I called this morning and told them what was going on and he said I'd be okay driving it over, just to stop and check it halfway to make sure it's not getting real hot again. When they pulled the cover the gears weren't melted but there was a lot of metal glitter in the oil. They said the backlash has opened up to a crazy amount ranging from 13 to 20 thousandths. It could be a bad ring and pinion/warped ring gear. So I went ahead and called Moe's to see about warrantying them and have ordered and paid for a new set until I can see if Motive will warranty the first one's. The gears will hopefully be at the shop on Wed. and they said they would warranty the install, so maybe this will finally be over.

 

My Mustang is set at .012 backlash. You ain't that far off.
