Default Bull bar and cutting the air dam?

So I just brought a bull bar for my 07 and i heard you have to cut some holes into the air dam lower front bumper to get at the bolts to scew them in. Is that true. All of the pics i have seen say yes but on the probuct page, it says nothing about it. Any ideas. Thanks Oh and maybe some pics. Thanks.

Why not just take it off? I took mine off, but I prefer how it looks without it.

Yes, there are screws on the back side. It has the clips, whereas the screws go into that. It takes maybe 10 min to take off.
