Im just curious who on here has a 3rd gen with the 5.9 haven't seen many?
Just trying to get some info on what issues they may have had and what fluids and maintenance they are doing maybe even some pics thanks all for helping!!!! happy new year

 

Also what mods are best for this motor?

 

ive got one.. only had it a year. its an 02 with 73,000 miles. the superchip helped, i plan on doing the efan mod soon

 

Thers allot of us here . Here's a few of my mods- Harland sharp 1.7 roller rockers na, jba silerceramic coated shorty headers, superchips tuner, 180 t-stat and fastman 52 mm tb just to name a few.

 

Apparently, there are more than you think.. According to vehicle search on Autozone there are for the 2002 V8:

however reliable that stat is....

Im part of that 47%

 

Now a rare find is a 2003 with a V10 (non-viper), but someone on here found one.

 

I also have a 5.9, I did a CAI high flow exhaust and a superchips programmer and it REALLY woke up the motor! I also put a 180 t-stat in.

 

I have one too but getting mightily pissed off with it at the mo!

 

I got an 02, not alot done yet, but my "to do" list is pretty long.

 

thanks all for the response im glad to see a few of us on here! is the superchips really worth it for motors? and whos running synthetic oil ive been thinking about switching just not to sure yet?
