I want to buy a ScangaugeII to check the performance of my 04.5 3500 Cummins and adjust my driving to improve things when towing my 14000 lbs fifth-wheel trailer, but I was told that the Scangauge II will not work on 04.5 and 05 RAM trucks because Dodge did not follow proper protocols with the OBDII port. Anyone know anything about this?

 

Welcome to the forum. I have not heard of this. Have you tried contacting Scangauge to see what they say?

Thanks. The folks at Scangauge tell me that it will not work on 04.5 Dodge, but the folks at Dodge tell me that the OPDII port is sully compliant. I will assume that the guys at Scangauge are correct and will forget about buying the Scangauge II. Too bad because I really wanted one.
