well actually your wrong they do make good actually belltech, mcgaughy's and djm make some of the best drop kits out there. the cut spring and stuff is somebody trying to cheap out and halfa$$ something and it doesnt put it out of geometry at all they are designed and researched theres nothing wrong with them as long as you get an alignment after everything should be good ....there are guys that have rolled out on lowered rides just as long as raising a ride if its done right its good... if its halfa$$ed then you get what you get and that goes for up or down.....do some research next time....
JusJay... didnt mean to offend your lowered truck... to each their own. Guess I should have said they dont really have a good "TYPE" not brand. I'm sure Belltech, Mcgaughy's, etc are very reputable brands. I did do a little research (As you kindly instructed above) and from what I can see, Belltech and Mcgaughy's offers pretty much exactly what I mentioned above.... Drop spindles and "lowering springs". Seems like this would put your lower control arm at a pretty wild angle. And the drop spindles would change your load points and angles of your front suspension. It seems like it would be taking more of the weight off the springs and putting it in the upper arm.
Look up pictures online of both types. It's a personal preference and how deep your pockets are. Find out what you like and run with it, don't worry about what people think.
