Question Lift or Lower

I have a 06 1500. Should i lift it or lower it. If i lift it i would go with a 10'' Lift and 40''s. If i lower it i would go 2/5 or Airbags.
What would be the mpg for Lift and Lower?

Any suggestions

if its the 4.7l and 2wd lower it ....or if you lift that high your gonna need gears and tuner and lots more work do to it to push big wheels like that as to lowered the more you the more you utilize as power to the ground instead of just enough to get around......just my opinion xill did his 2wd like that and has alot since then...he'd be the best to ask....

first off welcome to DF! I guess there is no middle ground with you lol! Either WAY up or WAY down!! If mileage is a big deal, you do NOT wanna go up to 40's!!! I have never lowered a truck but I dont think that would affect your mileage at all. those BIG tires will for sure!!

First... what kind of question is that??? What would be best for MPG??? Running 40" tires on the smaller of the V8's??? If your that worried about MPG, get a programmer and a CAI and drive like an old lady. If you want to mod your truck... well, thats one of the prices you pay. Personally, I dont like lowered trucks.... but its all about what you will be happy with in the end as your going to be the one driving it. Personally, I Dont think they make any "good lowering kits". I believe they are all chopped springs and drop spindles (which put your front suspension at a non-stock geometry). Lift kits, you can get a crossmember kit that will pretty much keep your stock geometry. Either way... good luck and welcome to DF.

well actually your wrong they do make good actually belltech, mcgaughy's and djm make some of the best drop kits out there. the cut spring and stuff is somebody trying to cheap out and halfa$$ something and it doesnt put it out of geometry at all they are designed and researched theres nothing wrong with them as long as you get an alignment after everything should be good ....there are guys that have rolled out on lowered rides just as long as raising a ride if its done right its good... if its halfa$$ed then you get what you get and that goes for up or down.....do some research next time....

My rule of thumb has always been 4X4's go up 4X2's go down, never been a fan of the "Concrete Cowboys", but it's ultimately up to what you like.
