Default Cranking noise when turning wheel full crank

Title explains it all... It stops if i drive for a little. But its brutal when in reverse. What do i do??

well i want to know what it is?
should i be worried. like it literally sounds like its going to explode.
cranking noise - sounds like gears are grinding. like spinning but skipping notches. know what i mean?

need more info cause I am not sure what you are describing. does it only do it while truck is moving or will it do it sitting still? does it sound like a tire rubbing on something maybe? is it only in 4WD or both?

its probably in 4wd and that is normal .

Maybe he is talking about a low power steering pump noise... God knows PS leaks and bad pumps happen to 3rd gens.

my buddie owns a shop and he was saying the 4wd fluid may be low..
no its in 2wd when it happens. maby the dial is just sticking or something.

you know I bet he is right! go check your 4WD fluid and let us know if it is low!
