wow you guys are over paying alot for this stuff $45 for 8mm wires and like $25 for acdelco plugs then 10-20 mins to put them in or go to the local shop and pay them $30 but i like doing things myself

 

Forgive me if I am trouble digesting this, 5 hours and $400? Let me put it into perspective a 1990 Jaguar V12 takes a book time of 4 hours and takes 12 spark plugs! That includes removing the throttle pedestal, ignition coil, distributor cap and air conditioning compressor to get to the twelve plugs and then putting everything back together and I find it hard to find a Jaguar dealer that will charge $400 for that service. Where I work they will charge aprox $580 for a plug change on a 6 cyl Continental or Lycoming aircraft engine but they have 12 plugs at $40 each!!! Now I have seen under the hood of a Hemi powered Ram so can someone please tell me how can they justify 5 hours and $400 plus for a plug change! Is this the rip off of the century? Please explain.

 

for a thousand dollars i will fly out wherever you live and change your plugs and wires for you. hell ill charge you 800.

but seriously if you u do it urself you will save alot and im sure someone has a write up and pics on how to do it if your not mechanically incline

 

I think he meant $100. $100 is reasonable (in labor).

 

The plugs on an 06 calls for 2.5 hours by alldata, so if ur good an hour and a half and bad 3 and a half, my shop charges 95 and hour which is avg round here so that's less than 250 for labor that dudes crazy, where ya from, ill do it for 200+parts whichs about 25 bucks for the champ coppers which is what just got put n my 06 at 34000

 

I don't know plugs and wires just aren't that difficult to install. Do some research and do it yourself!

 

I work at Sears and it's about 340 or so if I remember correctly for the Hemi Tune up.

 

So you did all 16 plugs in 10-20 minutes?

That price of $1000 is waaaaaaaaaaaaay too high.

thanks guys, im not sure why its so high. he even asked me if i had gotten prices before i asked him, he didnt know it would be so expensive before he searched for prices. My buddy is a mechanic so we might just do it sometime. for now i think ill just get my diff fluids changed.

 

AC-Delco plugs? In a Dodge? Uh, no. Champion or NGK V-power for the best results.
