Default Extra Weight on Ram

Ok today i installed my new Nerf Bars and when i was under the truck i noticed i had these 2 round weights mounted to my frame. They both loooked like giant bullets facing the opposit direction but mounted in the center of the frame. Any one know what they are there for and can i remove them???

I saw those when I installed my steps also. My thought was that they were vibration dampers but that is totally a guess. There is also a damper (that's what it's called on the Dodge parts schematic) above the crossmember behind the rear bumper.

I haven't seen them, but they are likely there to cancel out vibrations in the frame. they are a band-aid for an unexpected harmonic vibration . I'd leave them alone, or you may get some wicked shakin goin.

Yep, they are trying to please the 80% of truck buyers that want their truck to ride like a Lincoln Town Car and not a truck.

I happend to be at Walmart today and i saw alot of rams there.. I just wanted to check out to see if they all have them, 70 percent of them did not. They look like they are pretty heavy, i was thinking of removing them and see if i noticed a diffrence in vibration. If yea then i would bolt them back up. What you guys think???

Whats the bet that they are on the 06-08's and not the 02-05's, it seems like the only people who are saying they have them have the 06-08's. Ill have to check under my 02 to see if it is...

Hey - if they turn out to be useful on 02-05 trucks, wouldn't that be a nice find!
