Default 2002 V6 3.7L Cyclinder 1 won't fire

Cylinder 1 won't fire. I swapped plugs and moved coil packs around but no matter what Cyl. 1 does not fire. It has a very rough idle and a stutter until about 1500 rpm or so. When ever i remove the plug it's wet with gas.

try hookin up a code reader, see if its throwing more than a misfire code. Thatd be my first start, or check to see if cylinder 1 is even getting spark. if it isnt go from there

that's nut. maybe it's just in the ecu. unhook battery for a while, reconnect, see what happens.

the fact you switched coils and plug around kinda eliminates the idea of a bad plug/coil. hell, follow that wire and see whats up maybe...

I pulled the the coil pack and put in a spark plug then i started the truck. Held it close to ground and it sparks just fine but it won't when it's in the cylinder.

Have you done a compression test on that cylinder?

No not yet, that was my next move. It only has 98,000 miles on it what's the chances of a burnt valve?

Well it's not really a recurring issue that I've seen on the forums w/ the 4.7/3.7's but it's possible, problems w/ the head gaskets are more common.

try looking at them post that sit on the spark plug. they tend to crack just because they're plastic. if you do find a crack just wrap it in electrical tape and it should be fine
