Default Check Gauges Light

I have never heard of this happening before but here lately, just at random points the Check Gauges light flashes on and makes a ding for about a second or two and then flashes off. Then maybe 20 minutes later it will do it again. Any ideas?

Mine comes on when I start up my truck sometimes...but the oil pressure gauge reads 0 so I turn the truck off and on and it goes back to normal. Kinda strange

I just started getting this same issue... twice so far, figured it was due to cold weather?

any gauges reading screwed up enough to set off the light? This is why you buy aftermarket gauges.. I dont trust all that electric computer crap..

Not to **** on anyone's parade, but my truck did the exact same thing and I thought just like you guys, especially since I've had electric issues in my dash in the past....and lo and behold the gauge and warning light were right and now I've got a bad bushing and blown rod. CHECK YOUR SH*T. DON'T ASSUME IT'S A MALFUNCTION LIKE I DID.

mine did it last week. truck was running too hot, low on coolant. luckily i was on the highway so I just floored it and the temp came back down. take a quick look at all your gages when that light turns on.

Only time mine ever did it, it was the oil pressure gauge. Sure enough I was almost a quart low! So I agree go check your sh*t! Don't ignore it!

Well I think I found the problem. I looked at the gauges real quick when the light came on and my oil pressure was in the red and then it went back up to normal. I got out and checked my oil and it was barely on the dipstick. She took two quarts and is still a bit low! I don't get it, I haven't had any puddles are noticeable leaks. Surely it wouldn't burn two freakin quarts! I about **** a freakin brick, but then again there are some "gangsta's" in town that hate me and I wouldn't put it past em to drain my oilpan overnight.
