Default new/bigger tires 05 dodge ram

i have an 05 dodge ram 1500 4x2 with the stock 20 inch tires. i want to put some meaner looking 24-26 inch mudding / all terrain tires on em with 15 or so inch rims. would i have to get a lift on it in order to have no rubbing what so ever? if so, how high?

first of all Mikey, the only thing 24-26 inch tires look mean on is an ATV!!! Stock tires with the 20" wheels are 33".

Also, although I commend you for wanting 15" rims (wheels) as opposed to the 22"+ "drug dealer" ones that are so popular now, the minimum wheel size that will clear the calipers is 17".

There are many posts about it (use the search function), plus if you check the FAQ section, there is a thread completely about tire/wheel fitment...

"meaner" . i don't go mudding much because i don't have a 4x4, so wasn't plannin on going overboard with 36" tires and whatnot. 15" rims are what i perfer though, what size tire would you recommend?

this was my first post on the forum, didn't look around much for answers. thanks though.
