Not thread jacking, but if i wrap the touching wires with electrical tape will i be alright then. Because the audio place hooked up the system, and i dont know how to re-install it back
Should there be any concern about the cold during the winter? Should I take the cut out off during the winter time to prevent the motor from a risk of breaking?
Just take the wires out of the cigarette plug in and ground the black in the engine bay, and run the red to the positive terminal of the battery and then just use your remotes. Easy.
To bighornram, I would at least try to pull them out and rewire them in, because all you will get with the electrical tape is some time before they rub off, the electrical tape will eventually rub off or slide down the wires, you are better off just taking the time to figure them out and completely wire them into that rubber plug, then it will protect them completely taking away all possibility of risk.
weed you don't have an adapter to plug into the cig lighter? Did you strip the wires?
No, because i have a DMH they dont have a cig lighter plug. They just have two wires with no ends that you have to connect to a power source and ground.

On the pass side, behind the pass side kick panel there was a unused grommet there on mine. So i went and got a coat hanger and taped the cutout wires to one end and push the coat hanger through the grommet and that how I got them in the cab. Then they go behind the glovebox, behind the center console and to the cig light wires.

Never had any problems in the cold with my cutout. Always works fine no matter what the temperature.
I may have to wait it out until after this semester to put the cut out on. I won't be driving much since I live on campus so there is no point really. I'll be able to get it on for summer though!
