Well first of all, looks is all a matter of personal taste. You are entitled to your poor taste.

As far as the spokes of the wheel going out the the lip, it's for strength and rigidity. The hub and the outer lip are the two strongest parts of the wheel. Some people do actually use their truck for more than going down to the mall parking lot or cruising the middle schools for chicks...

I like the look of these black rims, but I can't tell if those are the factory dodge wheels powdercoated or something??

i work construction. my truck seems to do fine on the stock 17s? what do i know tho, my truck beds never seen dirt

definitely not stock, that looks like a 2 1/2 to 3" lip. they almost look like torq thrust powder coated black
