Default excessive tire wear

my front right tire has excessive wear on the outer half of it. what would cause this? have had this issue since my spindle lift. got an alignment right after install. just replaced steering rack a couple weeks ago and now actually seems its getting worse. already know joints need to be replaced. but I don't understand how that'd cause it to this extent. seems as if the whole wheel is crooked to cause it?..

Has to be an alignment issue causing the tire wear.

'Dog wrote a nice little write up not long ago that alluded to just how many alignment shops do not perform it properly on a IFS Ram.

A little too busy to search, but I know he'll jump on this. I was supposed to copy it to the FAQ, but forgot. I'll need to do that once 'Dog gives us a link...

no no, no stocks here. on 3rd set. these so cal roads destroy tires. Damn pot holes. so probably, most likely, an alignment issue? any way we can do our own at home that'll suffice? or professional equipment needed? tired of shops and their crap work. I'm 100% ojt and think I do better than these fools.

Probably almost impossible to set alignment without specialized equipment. You're talking fractions of a degree. For a guess, I'd say toe-in or camber, maybe caused by a bad tie-rod.

Gotta get it re-aligned if you replaced the rack.

bad tie rod as in the ball joint is shot? I know mine are done and am soon to be replacing them, but should that be the reason that I can't get a good alignment?
