Default how do I raise back seats for subs?

I have searched this forum and found some helpful threads on this subject. I would like to see some pics of how people lifted their back seats to make room for subs. I guess wood blocks is the best thing for this? I also want ideas on what people did to keep their seat back cushion from falling off. I heard you need to fab some kind of extentions? I think I can get by with raising the whole thing about 2 inches. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks alot...

I made 1" blocks out of aluminum..and no I didnt have to fab any sort of extension, they stay on unless you raise the bottom, and its kinda nice having them come forward because you can put stuff (amp, guns) behind there...looks like I need to torque down some bolts lol

Thanks for the pics. I wonder how high you could make the blocks before the seat back would no longer latch? Also, were you able to use the stock hardware??

yea, I bought new bolts but was able to use the stock hardware....you couldnt do more than an inch and use the hardware, and I think not much more than that for the seat latches either

Default ok,

see the problem is I bought a box from Hifistereoconnection.com that is supposed to be "better" than other prefab boxes blah, blah. I got subs that should have fit according to the specs of the box, but they are like a hair too deep. So I had to shim the speakers up with a ring of 3/4 mdf so they would seat in the box. Now the damn seat has to be raised. I would like to go maybe 2" just to be on the safe side. I gotta figure out how to extend the brackets on the back of the seat. Any ideas would be helpful. I e-mailed fox acoustics about the blocks. We'll see what he has to say. Probably won't hear about it till monday.

That would probably be perfect. Can anybody else confirm that measurement?

I'm going on a trip tomorrow, I really wanna do this when I get back. I guess i'll just have to play around with it. I really would like to talk to someone who fabed some seat back extentions though. It would be neat to have them fold down, but i'd like to be able to put them back up too.
