speed limiter for ram's??
Yeah... I am not too sure as to what the best settings are yet either. I kinda wonder what the tow setting would do... more tourqe or whatever. I just never tried it.
superchips only raises the limiter not diables it. on anther forum some one did the math and they said that with the 5 speed and either 3.55 or 3.92 the truck could do 150+ in theory. to truly disable the limiter (dumb at high speeds though) turn the key like your starting the truck when your about to hit the governor. works everytime andf the started is not engaged either. it will disable the speedo and radio though. hold the key until your goin fast enough to attain vehichular manslaughter adn let off and everything works like normal. most use it on the dyno to get the full third gear runs.
Thanks guys for the info. Seems that I'll have to shell out the four bills to get the programmer, if I want to play it safe and "raise" the speed limiter. I'll admit, I'll need to grow a larger set of knads to attempt the" turn the key to start" while already driving at over 110 MPH in an attempt to disengage the governor. How many people here have actually tried this (other than deanj287). It was reassuring to hear that this Hemi engine is capable of the 140mph mark though. That's what I'm talking about! Now to first find the Z-rated tires to make that speed a safer goal.
i havent seen it on this site... i found out at hemitruckclub and dodgetruckworld and also dodgetalk. imho those sites are a bit more "under the skin" of the truck and have a bit more info on the technical abilities of the motor and cpu
