Default Laptop: ODB, Programming, Tuner, and Monitoring

Seeking information on 'how to' use a laptop for use with a 2003 2500 5.7L gas to perform ODB, Programming, Tuner, and Monitoring. I am hoping someone has figured out the setup to do this in a lower cost way. From what I have see thus far, there does not appear to be a simple existing open source product (software) and a low cost (hardware) solution to overcome this challenge. Perhaps we could use this thread to share what we have learned, what works, and does not work; so we can collaborate and come up with something great. Thanks

OBD-II is the system used in 96-newer vehicles.

Let me be the bearer of bad news- there is absolutely nothing available for what you want to do.

First, unlike chevy or ford, there are no "low cost" laptop tuning options available.

Second, the advanced tuning options available are not user friendly and require significant expertise (again unlike chevy or ford).

Third, and perhaps most significant for you, 03 is the bastard child for dodge ram tuning. Even the basic options such as SC, SCT, and Diablo provide little tuning for your year. Only basic PCM options are available and *******ly no control for the TCM.

Don't just take my word for it though, research away and come to all these conclusions on your own.

Sorry

I know you can do some things with the diablo and a laptop but I belive its just the viewer and not to the extent that you want. The data log view is great to check out but I dont think you caan use it to make adjustments.
