Check engine - Strange Problem
Hi guys, hope you can help. I have the 2002 5.9l dodge ram 1500 gas truck and am getting a check engine light coming up but only on very cold days, below -10. The thing is it is giving me the fault code of p0300 but the truck runs fine, there is no evidence of mis-firing at all. As soon as the weather warms up the light goes out and stays out until it gets cold again. Just wondering if you guys have had this problem before and can shed some light on what it could be....
Ps: have changed the plugs, leads, and distributor cap already

hows it going! I have been looking for what happened to the power to my car stereo and door locks and found what the codes mean at www.freeautorepairmanualz.com. Turns out that it means P0300 Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected. If you may know what is going wrong with the power to my door locking power and stereo. I would appreciate it. Thanks

i run the 180* t-stat, its been 5* here and no problems.
what plug are u running?
in the 5.9L you should have copper core plugs, 8 - 8.5 mm plug wires and the dist cap and rotor should have brass contacts.
make sure you have your plugs gapped at .040. you might also try getting higher octane fuel.
if nothing else, it could be your pickup coil that sits underneath the rotor in the distributor. ive been through this with 3 magnum motors. 2- 5.9L's and a 5.2L
