Default Help me pick larger tires for my 06' Ram 1500 2x4

The tires guys around here don't seem to want to put anything but stock on a ride so I'm asking you guys.
I've got an 06' Ram 1500 2wd 6sp. man with 17" stock wheels and I need new tires for it so I'm thinking I might as well go bigger while I'm dropping the cash.

I'm looking for something that looks aggressive, more like off road tires but they are going to see 90% highway.
Any brands? Models? Sizes? you could suggest? Pictures possibly?
I've heard the largest you could go on this truck is 265's but I'm hoping that's not the case.
I'm not interested in lifting or leveling the truck either and I'm trying to keep the costs down if possible.
Suggestions please?
Corey

Nitto Terra Grapplers or Toyo Open Country A/Ts, basically the same tire. Great road all-terrain tire. Quiet, smooth, super wet pavement rating and well above average wear rating. 33" or metric equivalent tall tire would be about the max.

Oh, and this is a pet peeve, you own a 4x2. A 2x4 is a piece of wood...

I've had a really good experiences with my Nitto's. 295/70/17 (33") A 33 will fit a stock truck with no lift.

I've been eyeballing the nitto's for awhile and their price has shot up on discounttires site like $12 per tire in the past couple months.

I like the Firestone Destination A/Ts or the Bridgestone Dueler A/Ts. Both are a long lasting solid tire on and off road. For size, I went up from 255/75 to 265/75 and that was enough for me but 285s would be the biggest id say to go.
