well i checked the code that it through me and it was a code of p0513 which is wrong immobilizer key so unless anyone knows how to fix that i think its going to the dealer
Ya i ttok the negative off for like half hour at least and came back out it on and same thing
Did you try it with the positive? I do believe the computers have a separate ground. So if you took the negative off the battery the computer would still be energized. :S?
Has your truck started since the immobilizer was installed? If so then i would just maybe check the connections, maybe the technician did not tighten them up enough, and the connection broke loose. They way that i would think the system works is the immobilizer is always grounded. When ACC is turned on power is sent to the switch breaking that ground. Its just designed so that if someone takes out that immobilizer it will still not start because of no ground. So if the connection was broken the truck would not start.
The other thing is do the 2003's have the sentry key?
oh...and do you have another key for the truck? If you do try that, if that works then then i think you can reprogram the one that does not work with the one that does
thats what happened tp mine when the battery died. take it down and get it checked eventhough it was working fine the day or whenever you last had it running
ya i tried both keys the grey one and the black one i had cut after.... It just does the same thing so ill call down to dodge in the morning and see what i can do
I had the same problem in my 02 SLT Quad cab - red blinking light with a "blinker clicking" sound, no start. Battery is 6 months old, truck ran fine the night before. It was the Dodge security system in lockdown. To free it up I closed all the doors, put the key in the driver's door lock and locked and unlocked the truck 3 times. Started right up after that.
