Default shock sizes

needing some help here. years ago I upgraded my 03 hemi to a rough country 3 inch spindle lift. I'm wanting to upgrade shocks to ranchos but not sure on which size I need to order. is it as simple as figuring out stock size then adding 3 for front shocks to determine the size I need or is it just because its a "3 inch lift" shock size may differ? btw the rear is lifted by a 1.5 inch block.

I'm pretty new to the whole lift scene and from what I've gathered here and , spindle lifts allow you to keep stock shock lengths . . . someone will chime in and correct me if I'm wrong hopefully. As for your rears if it was a 1" block, stock length would still apply and with a 2" block I've heard the 2500 shocks are 2" longer so it would help there, but I'm clueless and would also like to know if stock length or 2500 rear shocks would apply to a 1.5" blocks in the rear

So, let me ask you why have you decided on Rancho? Is it a personal preference? Rough country has extended shocks that will work just as well with your lift at a fraction of the price.

But you probably already knew about that.

I think for a 2wd you may have a little problem finding extended shocks in the Rancho arena. I've looked myself and not found really anything.

well cause I'm not a mini van kinda guy and I've got my first child on the way. found great offer on ranchos; can't remember site. its 329 for the set of four. and until Feb 28th get a free myride system with the purchase of the shocks. so I'm wanting to make the ram run smooth with her on board and why not have easy ability to adjust ride. pot holes are dreaded bastads. also, I'm replacing my control arms and tie rod ball joints, might as well do shocks too. so that's why I'm trying to figure out what size shocks ill need to get. and thanks for all your help.

I've found where I'm getting my 9000xl shocks from at 80.15 a piece, but for $8-10 more . . . even if there's checkout taxes, $329 + free myRIDE controller makes it ALL worth it ! (OP, Assuming you'd get a free myRIDE you're getting 9000xl's ?) And as I've been told and read on other threads, 2500 front shocks are 2" longer, but spindle lifts maintain stock shocks so no need there, but for your rear 1.5" blocks I"m not sure if you'd need longer shocks. I'd wish someone else would chime in
