My younger brothers first vehicle was a 93 F250 and I didnt think much about the diesel truck thing, then a couple years after I decided it was time to buy a nice truck and my bro kept insisting I get a diesel and I always looked at it like it was overkill, then a year after I bought my 08 1500 he sold the old ford and bought a 05 F350.. After he bought that truck I fell in love with it wished I had bought a diesel. I would have taken the 05 F350 over the 08 1500 anyday!! and his was 10,000 cheaper then mine, I wish I took my time and looked into it more instead of just jumping right into the 1500. In 5 years I want to get rid of the 1500 and get an 07 3500 so that I can get the most use out of my truck for all the money it costed me!! If someone would trade me a diesel right now straight across id take it in a second..

 

i can get you a 94 CTD.....if that straight across the board thing is still in play? lol

 

lol nah ill pass on that one.. I got to used to the new truck that I cant go back now.. Thats why I figure Ill wait till like 2015 and then trade my truck in on a 07.. Get the 07 and pay for a few more years.. Although I would love to get a 2nd gen 12 valve for a bush truck

 

im sorry but my dad had his 7.3 diesel turned up and we were at a light when some kid in a ORANGE fast in the furious car pulled up. my dad just kinda took off and all that black smoke poored into the open window. Its funny to put people in there place and theres nothing like rollin coal in a huge truck. but that truck isn't turned up anymore due to towing and being reliable.

 

Realaiblity? pssh! your not making power until your melting things!! hahaha! just kidding man, but the 7.3 was Ford last good motor, we'll see how the new one for the 2011 is!

 

lets see. uh a 7.3 paid off truck vs the 2011 6.7 for $50k. ehh ill stick with the old and the 20 mpg's.

 

I never drove a 7.3 before, my bros was the 6.9 IDI and it was pretty nice once we put a turbo on it. 5" slash cut stacks. 5 spd manual. His 6.0 is an awesome truck, just did the head gaskets last month and put in the ARP head studs. They are reliable engines once you fix them properly once lol. Id still take a 5.9 over any ford any days of the week.. Not to sure about the 6.9 yet though.. I havent heard enough about them yet, and I phucking hate all the new DPF emissions crap on the new diesels.
