something to be scared of?
If it's been properly maintained, the mileage is no big deal IF the price is right. The few times I've bought used, I went over it thoroughly, pulling a plug, the dipstick and even popping the diff plug and sticking my finger in to have a look.
Personally, I wouldn't consider a vehicle with up around 100,000 miles on it without a compression test. Might cost you a few bucks, but if it had an issue, it'd cost you WAY more if you bought it.
I gave my mom a '98 Grand Cherokee I had when we replaced it with an '02 for the former Mrs. Hammer. Took her '93 mini van and used it for the trade to let my mom upgrade by 5 yrs and about 60k miles.
She had it till '05 when she sold it to one of her friends with right at 100,000 miles on it for $3500. Last I saw the lady, she still had it and it had 154,000 miles on it and the only issue it's had was the A/C went on it. Other than that, just routine maintenance. She states it's the best investment she's ever made!
So it's entirely possible to pick one up with that kinda mileage on it and have it be a serviceable daily driver for years...
'04 4x4, high mileage, that's about average asking price. If it's mechanically in excellent shape and you can whack 'em down under $9k, it's a good deal...

This is a quad cab right? i would search your local area just to make sure you dont find anything you like better. i dont think thats a bad price IF its in good shape...but hey always take them down as low as you can.
10K should get you one with half the mileage, Specially if you already have the finances lined up. 100K is nothing to these Hemi's, But don't spend more than you need to.
