04-fourseven I would stay away from AIRRAM, thats just my personal opinion. I have done business with him and he is great. He has paved the road for many of the performance parts that I listed. But the tuner that he has on staff just doesn't send a good vibe to me, and not only that but he blew his motor while on his custom tune. I just feel safe with a tuner that has not (as far as I have ever heard, and if so not in years) blown a motor. And that would be hemifever, who is tuning 2 of the fastest 4, 4.7's. And as soon as this blown cammed 4.7 hits the track it will be THE fastest 4.7 to date. I put money on it.... That is in a RAM. There is faster 4.7's that are in Jeeps and Dakotas.

Here is a little better version of the list with a couple things added i.e. under drive pulley and 08 intake manifold

NO on the throttle body spacers. They are meant for a carburetor motor. I would recommend

1. Ported Throttle Body

2. Cheap things like E-Fan, and a new Y pipe. TMR mod is free do it. (use the search function)

3. Headers, only option is shorties for the 4.7

4. I would then do Superships. I am not sure how much difference you would see being a stick and although they do do SOME motor tuning. They focus on the Trany

5. If thats not enough Gears, (The gear choice will depend on what size tire you are going to run most likely a 4.10 or 4.56)

6.2008 H/o intake manifold

7. Under Drive Pulley

8. Then a Torque convertor

9. Then Ported and polished heads
-While you are doing this you might as well do cams, high lifting springs and all those goodies

10. CAMS
-KRC is now offering full billet cams with LSA ranging from 116 to 106

11. Now that you have a cam and new heads you are going to need a custom tune. I would only recommend one tuner for the 4.7 Hemifever

12. For you custom tune you will need a wide band gauge and maybe a couple others to get the info he will need to tune you correctly.

13. If this truck is still not enough for you I would look into a lowering kit to run smaller tires

14. At this point if you still need more the only option is to leave the world of N/A, and at this point you have 3 options
1. NOS-has been run on a 4.7 before that ran good times
2. Turbo charge, KRC is selling a kit with everything you need 2-3k
3. Supercharge, you will be hard pressed to find one. They made one
years ago for the 4.7 but discontinued it. You will see them come up
for sale every now and again.

Any more questions PM me and I can forward you to real 4.7 gurus.

And the Custom SCT tune can be substituted at any point in time. It will never hurt to jump into custom tuning earlier than needed.

Run, do not walk! Hide your wallet! Once the mod bug bites, you are stricken forever! OEfootball lists many of the typical and good mods. If you want to get deep into the engine, AIRRAM is the place to look. You can get 11:1 pistons with coatings, soon a blower, and I think they might be working on a 5.7L kit. Hmmm, a 5.7L DOHC engine. Yowza.

04-fourseven, yes the SCT is available for 4.7Ls, but only up to 06 I think. I have asked several times over the past two years and there is no 07+ support. So, I bought a Superchips Wish I'd done that sooner...

And hopefully in the NEAR future we will have Diablo tuning the 4.7's as well. There is a guy taking his in this week to work with the motor and their tuning.

sorry but if your gonna spend all that kind of money, just sell what you have and buy a hemi, then even the basic upgrades will return bigger numbers than on our 4.7s

I understand your point, but thats not what he asked. It is kinda fun making a truck that has less starting HP, less of an after-market, and less tq beat most Hemi's. Idk about you but playing as the under dog and winning is much more appealing than playing as the higher seed and loosing. Just my point of view. I just wish I had money and time. I would lower my truck to have it as a fun truck and then buy a cheap beater for 4x4.

No kidding, I wanna see some down-the-road action. Maybe I missed it, but I didn't see any forged internal mods on that list. IIRC our 4.7's can handle about 7-8psi ? With stock internals that is. Maybe I missed something? That'll be badas$ if/when he does become the fastest, but I'm sure he wants to stay the fastest for a while

thats right 4.7ram5.7rango, actually marty at KRC says that they can handle up to 12 PSI of boost stock block. He doesn't have any "down the street" videos because if he floors it from 50 even it just starts spinning the tires, and thats with a "safe tune" until he gets data logging done and a fine tune worked out with hemifever. He still has 3.55 gears and is swapping in 4.10 gears, Auburn LSD, 14psi pulley, HKS BOV, 60mm Wastegate, Water-Air Intercooler. This thing is going to deff set the fastest time for 4.7 yet.

Here is a quote from him

nothing yet as its only running 5.5 lbs shifting auto- 7lbs if i bump it with the shifter... but a water to air intercooler setup with aluminum heat exchanger and cobra svt pump are in the works... along with 2.75" pulley, 12psi wastegate, hks bov... then some datalogging and 4.10's w/ auburn too...
and one from Marty

Very nice, sounds just like the lil brown Dakota.....12psi will be fine on the stock block, anymore and the stock rods will bend. At least with me it did....
