Default P 0700 code and Trannies acting up.

Just starting my research and thought I would start here. Trans been acting funny lately. At around 40 mph-ish when I throttle down a tad it drops hard into 2nd. Today for the first time it did it hard and that's when the check engine light came on and all I had was 1st and 3rd. It was in limp mode so I shut it off for a few, read the code and cranked her back up. All the gears wear back. I'm guessing she's about to go out. Not bad I guess for a 193,000+ miles of hard driving. P-0700? What's that code?

Hmm... Doesn't sound good. Wonder if a fluid n filter would help or be a waist.

Dayum!! Thanks man.. Guess I'll start getting some prices n get her fixed before she shuts down. It will be cheaper than a blown tranny. I'm not ready for a Hi-Po trans yet.

Yeah, everything I have seen on a p0700 was a trans going out.

I hope it's that simple, but with 193,000+ miles on her it's probably time for a rebuild. I've got some quotes and I'm going in for a diagnostics check. If it's getting the full build, I'm adding a shift kit a looser torque converter.

I think Pyro just got that code not long ago, the fix for him was valve body and solenoid. I wonder how many of the guys who had rebuilds done coulda been fixed up by this?

Yeah, I researched and found out that that tranny codes are in a different group and require a different tool to read them. They kind of got you by the short hairs unless you know someone you can trust. It wouldn't surprise me if others got screwed by a dishonest shop.

I'm not too sure what the best case scenario on longevity of these transmissions are, but I'm guessing not much over 200K mile with allot of w.o.t. shifts. I'm always stretching her out from day 1. Also there is a whining sound that for the life of me, I cannot figure out where it's coming from.
