Exhaust System question
Looking to get a flowmaster dual exhaust for my Ram. I have an 08' ST (V6 engine....sigh). Would the flowmaster for the V8 work, or am I gonna have to go custom made on it?
I'm not gonna be an *** and bitch ya out cuz I see your new but search through some threads and see what others have to say about Flowmaster. I would recommend Magnaflow or Aero Turbine, idk how they would sound on a six cylinder.
nothing wrong with FM just bc most dont like them. Ive got one on my truck and had it there forever. The hardest thing is finding one (any muffler) you like because if you get it based on what others say and you dont like it, then what do you do? Its already welded up at that point. My suggestion is to find some one in your area (even if you have to stop them at a red light) and ask them what they have and so forth.
Agree with weed! Sound good and perform well in my opinion! The flowmaster's do not hold up well in areas where the roads are salted in the winter! Have also heard some of the people down the shore here in Jersey that are on the beach alot and have had them rust out quickly! Parts of the country that don't have salt issues these seem to last just fine! As for performance have heard good and bad but ya hear that with all products. Myself living in Jersey, I'm going with Magnaflow due to the excessive salt this state use's on the roads and going on the beach with it... Just my 3 cents!
I've done a ton of research on the V6 exhaust. Our 3.7 will not sound like a Hemi, and has a tendency to sound ricey with a lot of aftermarket mufflers @ around 2k - 3k rpm and tend to drone. From what I've heard for the price the Flowmaster 50 Series Delta Flow is the best way to go. Or should I say gives me the sound I'm looking for. They do come in SS. Search Youtube and yes pull people over on the road to see what they have. But remember we have a v6, it's not gonna sound the same as a v8. Good luck!

Just like everyone has said... it really only matters what you think. My last truck was a v-6. Had a flowmaster 40 series SI/SO dumped and it sounded ok, not too ricey, but definately didnt scream horsepower. If you are wanting to dual it out, you may want to look at the dynomax bullets. Put some on a buddys v-6 back in college and it actually sounded really good, until he let off the gas and the popping begins (much like a glasspack). Hopefully this will help you a little. Best of luck.
