Yah well thats the ****ty part about new vehicles with all these computers.. Its the ecu or some bloody computer giving it the power and telling it to keep running.. theres nothing your gonna be able to do in your driveway without a computer with a dealer only program.. Except splice a switch into the power wire going to the fan, flick it on when you start the car, flick it off when you turn it off..

I'd just leave it alone. It's not gonna hurt anything by running for a little after the car's shut off.

In my opinion, I think your moms just wants to drive your truck!!!!!

The fan will also run constantly from the time you turn on the AC I beleive. I don't know if you've had warm enough weather for that, but if you turn on the AC the fan should run.

It's a GM and they are prone to electrical problems.

The PCM is not shutting off the fan. You can scan for codes, but the PCM is likely FUBAR.

There has to be a relay somewhere though right? Maybe that's just hung up and a new relay is all that's needed.

change out the cooling fan temperature sensor.

If what you're saying, it's not recognizing the motor being cool or hot, that to me sounds like a thermostat issue. I wouldn't say a relay because it's getting power and turning off and on. Just my opinion.

Got it back from the stealership today and I think they really stuck it to her. They said one of the two fan's was bad (total effin bs cuz I watched both of em workin with the motor at idle and when it was turned off) and the main cause was some kind of resistor in the factory wiring harness. I don't know how the hell a resistor makes the fan stay on but o well. Total came out to be over 400 bucks and she was pissed, especially after they told her it was an easy fix and it took em about 40 minutes to do.
