No relation to 3rd gen rams but I need some help
I am aware this will almost definitely be moved but do any of you guys know much about 6 cylinder cars with e-fans? My mom's 01 Chevy Impala is doing something strange. The motor is completely cool but when you shut it off the fan continues to run? I should prolly just go try and find a Cheby forum but I figured I'd ask you guys in hopes that maybe someone's wife has one of these or something.

Does it just stay running? Sometimes even after you shut a car off with an e-fan, the fan will keep running until the temp gets to where the computer tells it to be. Check your wiring, it could also be the temp sensor for the fan is bad.
Any help would be a nice thing, I'm stuck with her car at the house while she drives my truck to work now.
My only other form of transportation is our '91 F250 with the dang 460. What a whopping 3.5 mpg that beast gets.
I know most cars run until they cool off but we have had this thing since it was new and it has never done this before. The fan has always shut off with the car this whole 9 years we've had it.

Ah a chevy family. Your like me then, except my family is fords.. Im the only one with something else.. Looks funny when we are all at my dads for a special occassion.. 2005 F350, 2003 F350 dually, 2 1958 F100s, 1964 Comet, 1962 starliner. And then the DODGE.. lol..
Does the fan turn off eventually? If so then i wouldnt worry about it and take it as a good thing.. Its not going to have a negative effect. Its going to be something with the electronics, and that means you will need cheby to get into the computer most likely to fix it..

Yea it shuts off, it ran for a good 20-30 minutes after she got home with it and according to the gauge the motor was already cool, but idk. I tried unhooking the connections to see if they were even getting juice or just taking forever to spin down, they immediately started to slow down. So after burning my wrist on the exhaust
I hooked it back up and what do ya know it started goin again.
