Default $500 to mod...what next

So I am finally getting around to selling the stereo that I had in my car so it looks like i will have a little $$ to play with mods on the truck. I won't have a lot to play with (as the title infers) but i was looking for suggestions.

Currently all I have is magnaflow catback exhaust. I was thinking CAI, but if I do it, I want to do it right. Based on the posts that I have read on here it seems to be pretty much the consensus that the BFI is top notch. I would like to go with that, but it pretty much wipes out the $$.

Time for the Q's
Any suggestions on where to spend the $$ (BFI or otherwise).

Is the BFI a good choice?? Will I see performance gains with the minimal mods that I have?

Will I need to look into a 180 t-stat if I run the BFI and magnaflow, or is that more for a CAI+Headers+catback situation?

thanks for all the help guys

$500 for a CAI is ridiculous. Make your own. There are a couple DIY writeups for it. The CAI are all the same...its the filter that matters. Get a good K/N filter or something of the sort from ebay or something. It'll leave about $400 for other mods (programmer!!!). Most use either Diablo Sport Predator or Superchips 3865

give the money to AF he needs more mods. but really a CAI is not going to give you any gains . if you want gains get a programer. or save more and get gears

Tuner, you can prolly get 20-30 rwhp out of a tuner and only 10-15 if that from a high quality intake for the same price.

I did say "if that" lol that's what the manufacturers claim for their products although I'm sure it's exaggerated.

thats the best idea i've heard all week!!! but yeah, you arent gonna get didly with a CAI as far as hp gains. Its one of those that sucks by itself (no pun intended) but compliments other mods well (headers, tuner, cam, etc.). DEFINITELY put the money towards a tuner. best bang for the buck. You should have enough left over for an e-fan too (good for freein up a few ponies, but more importantly 1-2 mpgs)
