Default beeping issue and engine light

i have a 2003 dodge ram 1500 with the 5.9L, now there seems to be an extremely loud beeping noise every once in a while its 4 loud beeps in a row never happened before.

also my engine light is always on now, not to sure why though, everything is working fine.

i dont think the beeps have anything to do with the engine light because the engine light was on before and there was no beeps so why all of a sudden the damn beeps?

do any lights blink with the beeping? could be your battery starting to go south, i know my electronics go wild and i get a beeping when the batt goes dead. you should also check to see why the engine light is on. i would do that first!

nothing happens when the beeping occurs, it just beeps 4 times. how and what do i do to see what the engine light problem is? could this be a major problem or something that can wait.

it really depends why its on, if your truck isnt running badly or anything it probably isnt major but definitely needs checked out. try turning the key on-off 3 times ending in the on position. should read a code out on the odometer. if that dont work most auto-parts stores will check the code for free.

po141 is #1 O2 sensor relay ,
po138 #1 02 sensor shorted to voltage.

sounds like an 02 problem, i would think that would cause any beeping though.

check all the wiring to the #1 o2 sensor make sure its not cut or any bare wire showing anywhere.

it will be the one before the cat, or if you have sensors on each exhaust manifold it would be the driverside

Sometimes, I have seen a burned out airbag light cause a beep to warn that it doesn't work. Not sure if Dodge does this or not.
