Default Are tire brands that much different in size?

So i am running 285/70/17 which should be a 32.8 inch tire. I rolled the same size tire but it was a BFG KM2 up next to it. It was about 2.5 inches higher, granted my tires don't have much tread wear left, but it shouldn't be 2.5 inches different?

Are you talking about tires with no load on 'em, or are your tires mounted on the truck with load on the suspension? I suspect if you compare two unmounted new tires, there won't be much difference.

if you measured the size yourself while the truck tire was mounted and on the truck especially the front it will be off. the weight of the engine will compress the tires down

Tires vary wildly by manufacturer. My 33" TRXUS M/Ts were easily 2" taller than my Cooper STTs. The Smallest ones I had were F/C IIs . 33x12.5 was smaller in height than stock

Wheel width could have an effect -- 285/70x17 will have a specific diameter, regardless of manufacturer. 285 x .7 x 2 = 399mm. 399/25.4 = 15.71". 15.71+17= 32.71" in diameter.
