WOW! What a mod! The truck looks great, you should be very proud of the accomplishment. Nice work.

Thanks for the compliments. He has not pushed on it real hard yet but my modded dually don't have anything for it. The only thing that has been modded on the 12ver has been fuel plate, AFC adjustments and timing at 16-17*. Hits a good lick.

FWIW Diesel World mag did take a few pictures and had him fill out the papers for publishing while in Ohio. Hope he gets a nice write up.

Started a new thread, a couple videos also. My camera operating stinks, but oh well.

I'm going to bump this out of morbid curiosity, Does anybody know what needed to be done to fix the gauges? I'm assuming that his home made "cam sensor" wasn't setup with the correct tooth pattern. I'm not sure what the setup is on the 5.9 but my guess is that he didn't have the correct # of teeth, or the cam had a "missing tooth" pattern that could not be simulated on the crankshaft. I wonder if this would be easier with a 24 valve p pump. Or possibly putting a 24valve cam gear and sensor on the 12valve. My 24 valve p pump swap had wonky gauges until I got the cam sensor in just the right position.

I did some more snooping, I found this guy with a 5.9 gas with a scope on his crank position sensor (blue), cam position sensor (green) and coil (yellow). It looks like the crank signal is 16 pulses per rev, and the cam position sensor switches High/Low every 1/2 rotation. Hope this helps somebody. I might be tempted to do a swap like this someday.
