I asume i need a bed, axcel and wheels. Would the rear end just bolt right up to my leafs?.

The only thing with doing a dually in the 1500 is you really won't be able to do much more hauling than you can now, as you are still limited with your frame coming from a 1500 rather than a 2500 or 3500.

yeah... this is not a good idea. at all. your towing ability wont increase at all. you'll kill your truck. its gotta be at least a 2500 to start with.

If you are doing it for looks have at it. But if you swap the rear axle then your lug pattern in the rear wont match the front. AND the 1500 leaf slots and the 2500/3500 dont match up. I thought about doing it as well.

oh well in that case go for it. as oefootball mentioned, you're gonna have to weld in some new shackle brackets to get those leaf springs to fit. if you can handle having mismatched lug patterns it shouldnt be that bad of a conversion.

now what about drive shaft and stuff, would it bolt up?..... like im seriously looking at doing it in the future.... i dont no yet i love the jacked look but to me a slightly lowered dually is f'n dirty.

Thats what i was thinking tho, i would have to get a bed and it should bolt right up ( well i think). And it would mean that i would have to centre the rearend pinion angle right and weld in the brackets to hold the leaf springs
