weird idea so dont laugh to hard
I rhino lined the bottom of my truck from the body line down. This included The inside of the doors and the rockers you see when the door are opened. Being a plow truck I did it to keep rust at bay. It worked, but now I have rust forming on the top of the 1/4 panels and front fenders. And yes, it is a bitch to clean. Back when I cleaned the truck often I would have to hit it all with Castrol Super Clean and then brush it with a scrub brush. After that, just to give it a little shine, I had to Armor All every bit of it.
im not gonna do this to my truck i was just bored and got a wild hair. lol and the biggest problem with rhino liner is it is a matte finish. i would want the texture with the shine of the paint. and ur right smkn i could move to antartica but i dont like the cold weather that much!! lol
What about rhino lining it using a color option and get someone to spray a clear over top of it? Wouldn't do it to my truck but it would be different. Seems like those spray in liners get sort of chalky over time if exposed to the sun.
supposedly the new rhino liner and line-x will not fade in the sun...i dunno though. But they do have color options, mine is gray because I was wanting it camo, but I think black would look the best (tougher)
Not fade per se', but get chalky like oxidation. Color is still there but it sort of feels like a dirty chalk board when you run your hand down it. Maybe they mix something in now that prevents that. Would still be interesting looking with a shiny clear coat over it. But that would probably defeat the purpose of lining it as far as offroad scratches, etc.
