weird idea so dont laugh to hard
so we had a bout of pretty nasty weather here in southern north carolina and there was a pretty decent coat of ice over the majority of my truck. i was only able to get one pic before the batteries in my camera died. but i think this would be a wild paint job. its a freaky texture to run your hand across but i dont know how you could replicate it on the truck. heres a pic. what do yall think?
That is cool but the air drag would be crazy. Would have to be perfect dimples like a golf ball to make make air drag less than stock.
The sap from my pine tree makes bubbles like that. PITA to remove.

see i had thought about rhino liner but i figured that was to fine of a texture for what i was thinking of. my bed has a spray in liner and its like a sand texture.
and yes hunter i am bored!! lol
and ur right rc i would be lucky to get like 5 mpg with something like that! lol

That's not such a weird idea. I have a truck that is completely rhino lined including bumpers, wheels, and the stinger that slides into the receiver hitch. They're all over here here in Amarillo. A guy I knew had a 1 year old Z71 coated. Mine is sorta like sand paper as you described but other companies are more close to the ice texture your talking about. I'd like to have my rocker panels done in the future if the rock chips start getting too bad.
dont rhino line your truck... rocker panels are ok, but whole truck??? no.
i saw a bmw that was completely rhino lined, wheels and all... looked... different but has no depth like a nice shiney paint
